The Scenic Project Manager is a key role within the team, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.
The role will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of all scenic elements within live event and brand activation projects. This will include scenic scope definition, budget control, programme management, logistics planning and integration of scenic delivery within wider production programmes.
Working alongside the existing projects and scenic team, this role is an exciting new oppurtunity following significant expansion of both workload and workshop facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Act as the lead project owner for all scenic elements within allocated projects, responsible for scenic scope, budget, programme and delivery.
• Work alongside Project Management, Business Development, Design and Scenic Construction teams to develop practical, achievable and commercially viable scenic solutions.
• Own scenic budgets, cost control, margin protection and reporting.
• Manage scenic project programmes to ensure alignment with overall production schedules.
• Coordinate with the Scenic Construction Lead to agree on build strategies, fabrication timelines and resource planning.
• Manage scenic change control, client confirmations and additional works, collating and reporting all charges to be invoiced.
• Monitor scenic project progress and act as the primary scenic point of contact for project management and clients where required.
• Prepare all required paperwork and keep scenic job files for each project updated and available for input from other team members.
• Attend production, design and site meetings as required.
• Undertake client visits and site visits, as directed.
• Coordinate scenic logistics including transport, access planning, storage and load in / load out sequencing.
• Support the quotation process by preparing scenic costings, scope definitions and programme input.
• Assist with Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) for scenic elements and keep abreast of the company’s H&S Policy and current industry regulations and best practices.
• Ensure scenic elements are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and agreed finishes.
• Match scenic project requirements to available stock and fabrication capability to maximise profitable delivery and execution.
• Provide support to the Directors in other aspects of the business’s activity, as required, requested and directed.
• Liaise with suppliers, fabricators and specialist subcontractors as required for scenic delivery.
• Keep all work-related information confidential and act in a professional manner at all times, in all work and industry-social situations.
• Provide feedback to Directors of any areas of improvement, development or growth of the business identified. Take a role within the team in problem-solving and contribute to team & business improvement.
• Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
Representing the Company:
• Act as the scenic authority within allocated projects.
• Assist in demos & marketing projects as requested. Attend trade shows and other industry events as necessary.
• Keep abreast of all business opportunities through consistent communication and visits with recognised influencers and decision-makers.
• Actively host both potential and existing clients wherever appropriate.
• Keep abreast of scenic techniques, materials and products that will enhance our services, build quality and scenic offering.
• Maintain a good level of personal appearance, dress and cleanliness.
Person Spec / Qualities / Qualifications:
• Commercially astute. Strong understanding of scenic budgets, margin protection, cost control and reporting.
• A proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast-developing company.
• Ability to manage a situation and effectively deal with both junior and senior colleagues.
• Ability to operate at a strategic and practical level, as opposed to simply managing.
• Energetic individual, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for accuracy and excellence.
• Strong project management experience within scenic, events, exhibitions, theatre or fabrication environments.
• Good communication / interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise a demanding workload.
• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
• Strong understanding of scenic materials, finishes, fabrication processes and installation techniques.
• Strong IT knowledge with working knowledge of Vectorworks, SketchUp or similar design platforms.
• Experience with costing scenic materials and labour.
• Numerate. Able to use spreadsheets and IT to monitor budgets, profit margins and project performance.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety principles and legislation, preferably backed up by a recognised qualification.
• Proven skills in organisation, scheduling and project coordination.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Full driving license, own transport and passport required.
• Ability to travel within UK, Europe & internationally, often at short notice.
